PRIMARY FUNDER
Hospital Chaplaincy Aotearoa works in cooperation with Health New Zealand |Te Whatu Ora to provide hospital chaplaincy to all people in hospitals across the motu.
Health New Zealand |Te Whatu Ora manages all health services, including hospital and specialist services, and primary and community care.
DENOMINATIONAL SUPPORT
In 1972, nine church denominations came together at the request of then Prime Minister Sir John Marshall, to establish a national hospital chaplaincy service in the public health system. The Interchurch Advisory Committee on Hospital Chaplaincy (ICAC) was formed and worked in cooperation with the Department of Health.
Today, Hospital Chaplaincy Aotearoa is supported by the following denominations.
