Christmas Appeal

Give the gift of hope to Kiwis facing a difficult Christmas.

Caring for patients, whānau and staff within Aotearoa's hospitals

We're always stronger together. That's why Hospital Chaplaincy Aotearoa works in partnership with healthcare providers and churches to care for patients, whānau and staff no matter who they are, what they believe, or where they come from.

More than 90 Chaplains and approximately 160 Voluntary Chaplains Assistants provide spiritual and pastoral care in over 36 hospitals around the country. With more than 50 years of experience behind us, we're providing compassionate care to people as they face some of the toughest times of their lives.

Our hospital chaplaincy team is dedicated to providing care and support to people of all ages and backgrounds.

We walk alongside patients recovering from surgery, and those facing long-term illnesses, offering a compassionate presence during challenging times. We're there for children and their families, as well as for those dealing with mental health concerns.

We provide comfort and guidance at the end of life, supporting patients and their families through grief. And we offer a listening ear and emotional support to healthcare staff who face the daily pressures of care.

No matter the situation, our chaplains are here for everyone in the hospital community.

Help in the Tough Times
We all need help sometimes to make the tough times in life a little easier.

Whether it's a family with a critically ill child, a terminally ill patient, someone struggling with mental health issues or a stressed healthcare worker, it's always easier to get through the tough times with the support of others.

Be part of the team that supports them by giving a gift today.

SUPPORTER  VOICES

“As a Staff Nurse working on a very busy medical ward, I found the services of a hospital chaplain to be absolutely essential to provide support, companionship and spiritual help at times of great vulnerability for patients and their families.”
